Add and configure a Countdown widget
Show a saved Countdown event on your iPhone Home or Lock Screen, choose which event appears, and fix a missing countdown.
For Countdown 2.0. iOS button names and placement can vary by version.
1. Save an event in Countdown
Open Countdown and save an event with a name and date. Widgets use the events saved in the app. The free limit is three events, not three widgets.
2. Add a Home Screen widget
Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen. Tap Edit, then Add Widget (or + on older iOS versions). Search for Countdown, choose a size, tap Add Widget, then Done. To select a specific event, touch and hold the widget, tap Edit Widget, and choose your event in Countdown. Without a selection, the standard widget defaults to the next event.
3. Add a Lock Screen widget
Touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, and select the Lock Screen. Tap the widget area below the time, choose Countdown, and add a widget. While customizing, tap the widget to choose an event, then close the picker and tap Done.
4. If an event is missing
Open Countdown and check that the event is still saved. If the widget asks you to choose a countdown, edit its configuration and select an existing event. If it cannot load, open the app and try again; if the problem continues, remove only the widget and add it again. Removing a widget does not require deleting the app or your events.
